Gimlet

Believed to have been invented out of necessity by British sailors to prevent scurvy. It doesn't get simpler or more refreshing than the classic Gimlet.
The gimlet is effectively a gin sour putting it in the same family as feted cocktails like the Daiquiri.
Historically made with Roses Lime Cordial, fresh lime juice is now the preferred option. If you fancy trying the original simply omit the simple syrup as the cordial already contains sugar.
The wonderful citrus forward botanical profile in 1000 Piers Coastal Carolina Gin is the perfect compliment to this classic

Ingredients

2 1/2 OZ 1000 PIERS COASTAL CAROLINA GIN

1/2 OZ FRESHLY SQUEEZED LIME JUICE

1/2 OZ SIMPLE SYRUP

GARNISH: LIME WHEEL

Method

Shake all the ingredients over ice and por into a coupe glass, garnish with the lime wheel
